The US sanctions against European companies that are laying pipes of the Baltic gas pipeline Nord Stream- 2 are contrary to any logic, either legal or political. Nevertheless, what this situation speaks of is that the United States continues to pursue the policy of sanctions and pressure against any opponents and even allies - a policy that is de facto opposed by major "public opinion proponents" in Germany.
The situation around the Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action - JCPOA) is getting worse every day as US President Donald Trump and his administration keep ramping up and diversifying financial and economic sanctions against Tehran. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has met with heads of diplomatic missions of Arab countries and representatives of the League of Arab States (LAS). The participants in the meeting, which took place in Moscow on December 16th, focused on the situation in the world’s hottest spots, in particular, in Libya.
