For Turkey, the Balkan Region Регион is important historically, culturally, politically and economically, playing the role of a “bridge” into Europe. The geopolitical changes currently unfolding in Southeast Asia underscore Malaysia’s strategic importance for the leading world powers. ​Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced plans to establish as of July 1 Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and over some areas of Judaea and Samaria, also known as parts of the West Bank and the River Jordan, which fell under the  control of Israel as a result of the 1967 Six-Day War. At present, about half a million Israelis reside in these areas. However, most countries, citing international law, consider Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal on the grounds that they pose an obstacle to clinching peace with Palestinians.​

Just as Europe and Russia are systematically lifting restrictive measures, the focus of the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted to the Western Hemisphere where the situation in many countries of the region remains very serious. In an interview with International Affairs, Russia’s ambassador to Argentina, Dmitry Feoktistov spoke about the way the Russian Federation is now building relations with the Latin American country, which has enacted the most stringent quarantine measures.
A number of leading members of the Republican Party have sharply criticized the Trump Administration’s response to the riots that have swept America the past few weeks. The US media, traditionally critical of the present occupant of the White House, even argues that just as Trump’s approval rating is taking a tumble, debates about the GOP’s prospects after the current president leaves office this year or in 2024 are heating up in the Republican camp.

President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia has confirmed his intention to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow on June 24th. «I have received an invitation from Moscow, so naturally, I will represent Serbia at Victory Parade», - Srbija Danas cites him as saying. «Few countries can pride themselves on anti-fascist struggle like Serbia.
