Georgy Chicherin is one of Russia's outstanding diplomats. As Commissar for Foreign Affairs in the Soviet government, he made a significant diplomatic contribution to bringing our country out of international isolation. It is also important to note that Georgy Chicherin took part in the preparation of the first issues of the journal “International Affairs”. Streets, schools, libraries are named after him, as well as an orphan home located in the village “Karaul” in the Tambov region, which is regularly visited by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Once a Free Trade Zone between Lisbon and Vladivostok, the vision of an economic or even political unification of Russia and the European Union is far away from today’s reality. Organizing the first EU-Russia Student Conference, two Austrians studying in Moscow are trying to improve the relationship between the EU and Russia with unusual means. On June 14th and 15th, 80 students will gather in Moscow to present their ideas on so-called “business cases” to eminent representatives of Austria’s and Russia’s worlds of economics and finance. 
Russian traveler, artist and writer Fedor Konyukhov has completed an expedition in the course of which he sailed a row boat across the South Pacific from New Zealand to South America’s Cape Horn. He has thus covered the final part of the journey he began in 2014, when he sailed from Chile to Australia. Fedor Konyukhov’s expedition has set new world records, to be added to his already impressive list of world records.
MuseumWeek international action starts on May, 13. It is launched for the sixth time.  Galleries, archives, libraries, museums, cultural centers around the world and in Russia join the action that will continue until May, 19. Organisers are sure that unique international event will attract more people to visit museums. #MuseumWeek is a great chance to share cultural experiences, share this experience online.
​The State Tretyakov Gallery presents a long-anticipated retrospectiveby the world-famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, the founder of expressionism in European painting. The scope of the show is unprecedented: the exposition located at two floors of the Engineering Building includes 64 paintings, 37 graphic works as well as photos and memorial objects from the Munch Museum in Oslo that houses the largest collection of the master’s heritage.
The world famous tenor Alessandro Safina recorded “Blue Eternity”, a song by Muslim Magomayev, in Italian, turning it into an international hit. 1.5 million Internet users watched the music in three weeks. Comments of admiration were left in Russian, Italian, English, Turkish and many other languages. The tenor, who performed with Jose Carreras and recorded songs for Hollywood musicals, told us what attracted him to Russia.
Every summer, guests and music aficionados from more than 80 countries around the globe flock to the Austrian city of Salzburg to experience the best that the opera and drama world have to offer, alongside a legendary concert programme. In the summer of 2019, over the course of five weeks (July 20 to August 31), Salzburg will host 199 performances spread across 16 venues around the city. On March 23, the programme of the 2019 Salzburg Festival was presented at the residence of the Austrian ambassador in Moscow.
An open film festival of charitable Foundation Sheredar invites young directors. Charity Fund for the rehabilitation of children with serious diseases "Sheredar" in April for the fourth time will hold a festival of film, video and television works on socially important topics. The peculiarity of the film forum "Sheredar" is that it can be attended by both professionals and amateurs not only from Russia. In different years, it was attended by young directors from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine. And in 2017, one of the winners of the film festival was the film "Akuaka" by Andrey Kaspersky and Nella Wasilewska from Belarus.
On March 20, 2019 in Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russia Abroad the guests from St. Petersburg were received. For the presentation of the reprint edition of the book by A.P.Polovtsov “A brief biography of Her Imperial Majesty,  Empress Maria Feodorovna”, Igor Vitalevich Kozyr, Editor-in-chief of the Maritime Heritage magazine, publisher, and Nina Petrovna Rozhdestvenskaya, the initiator of this project, a member of the Russian Culture International Association, came over to Moscow.
