The convincing victory secured by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party at parliamentary elections on June 21st signifies stabilization of political situation in Serbia and further development of comprehensive cooperation with Russia. The Serbian opposition of both nationalistic and pro-Western orientation chose to boycott the vote.  As a result, only the Serbian Radical Party participated in the elections from the opposition. However, according to the Serbian Election Commission, the 1,58% of votes gained by opposition supporters de facto became a final judgement on Vojislav Šešelj’s brainchild.

Poland has adopted a new National Security Strategy which sets major guidelines for addressing a variety of issues amid the continuing decomposition of the current international order. The Strategy names Russia number one destroyer of well-established international standards which poses a severe threat to the security of Poland. Given the high level of anti-Russian hysteria, this comes as nothing unexpected.
The issue of Kosovo is yet again becoming one of the hottest on the international agenda. While the US administration is set on the early (before the presidential elections in November) signing of an agreement on normalizing relations through territorial exchanges, the European Union leadership, under pressure from Germany, is pursuing their own agenda: a settlement of political crisis in the region and prevention of a new territorial carve-up in the Balkans.

The US refusal to keep allocating funds for the World Health Organization (WHO) has become yet another step towards further confrontation between President Donald Trump and international organizations. However, the geopolitical importance of such a move goes beyond health-related issues and fits well into the current format of the US-China confrontation. Having accused the WHO of demonstrating inefficiency and excessive concern for the situation in China at the expense of other countries, the United States underscores the Chinese origin of COVID-19, thereby giving it to understand that the virus may have come from a laboratory.
The current coronavirus pandemic in Europe threatens to damage the image of the EU in the eyes of residents of both EU member countries and countries seeking the EU membership.  Given this, a good example has been  demonstrated by the Serbian leadership, which initially pronounced integration with the EU as a top foreign policy priority but had to consider a whole range of factors that had a negative influence on such plans.
The Covid-19 pandemic has covered 183 countries, afflicting more than 1.2 million people, killing more than 70 thousand and causing moral, psychological and material damage to almost all of humanity.
