‘New Generation’ delegates to participate in the ‘Dialogue on the Volga’ International Forum

On Oct. 31- Nov. 1, Russia’s Volgograd is hosting the “Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century” International Public Diplomacy Forum. For the first time, the event is being organized with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and will welcome 48 delegates of the “New Generation” program among its guests. The forum will take place at Volgograd State University and will be held in partnership with the Government of the Volgograd Region.

Russian and foreign guests will participate in a series of roundtable discussions devoted to the following topics: “The Future of International Relations: Challenges and Possible answers”, “Laboratory of Public Diplomacy”, “International Partnership of the Future: A Meeting of Young Leaders”, “Russia and Compatriots Abroad: Dialogue on the Volga”, “Germany and Russia in Global Politics”, and “The Future of Public Diplomacy: A Look from Young Experts.” The key event of the forum will be the roundtable discussion on “The Role of Twin Cities in the Development of International Humanitarian Cooperation” that will gather representatives of local authorities, experts and political scientists from Russia and abroad.

The “Dialogue on the Volga” Forum provides a platform for representatives of Russia and other countries to strengthen cooperation in addressing contemporary global and regional challenges. Taking place for the sixth time, the “Dialogue on the Volga” is an annual event marking the World Cities Day established by the United Nations General Assembly on Oct. 31, 2014.

This year, the forum is held on the 75th anniversary of the international twin city movement that started with Stalingrad and Coventry (Great Britain) during World War II, in June 1944.
