A petition to hold a referendum on the expediency of the further course of the British authorities in support of Ukraine and confrontation with the Russian side gained more than 10,000 signatures on Sunday, June 25. The relevant petition, which the Parliament of the United Kingdom has published on its website, must be answered by the UK government.
«Referendum
on ending government's economically costly Ukraine/Russia policies
The government, unless they change their policies, (including ending economically self-defeating sanctions against Russia (causing energy price rises) and sending billions in arms to Ukraine, instead becoming neutral peacemakers), to hold a UK wide referendum on the subject within six months maximum»
The authors of the petition said that London's policy towards the Russian Federation and Ukraine results in the detriment of the British economy.
The initiators called on the government to hold a nationwide referendum within the next six months and revise its foreign policy, or immediately "abandon the economically suicidal sanctions against Russia, which caused an increase in energy prices, and multibillion-dollar arms supplies to Ukraine."
At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition.
At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.
Anyway, after two days of voting there are enough voices to attend Government response.
