People in most European Union countries are against Ukraine's accession to the bloc, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban told Radio Kossuth.
"Most EU countries would say 'no' to Ukraine's accession," Orbán stated. "If we admit Ukraine, we admit war. Ukraine's accession would destroy our economy," he warned.
In April, Viktor Orban wrote in his social media account that Ukraine's accession to the EU would effectively be a blank check to continue the conflict.
"Ukraine's hasty accession to the EU? This is Brussels' plan, not ours. They want to accept a country without clearly defined borders, a functioning economy, or sovereignty. And they expect EU taxpayers to fund a million-strong army for decades. This is not peace. This is a blank check for an endless war," Orban noted.
