The Russian Embassy has accused the UK of acting as 'an accomplice to the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks' carried out by Ukraine following the use of British drones against Russia, Mirror reports.
Russia has threatened the UK with "consequences" for allowing Kyiv to strike deep inside Russia using British drones.
As per state news agency TASS, the Embassy warned: "These actions by London will inevitably have consequences for which it will be held accountable." It said the greater the UK's support for Kyiv, "the higher the price will be".
British-made drones are being deployed by Ukraine to strike targets in Russia for the first time. The weapons, produced by two separate UK companies, have been used to attack refineries and warehouses belonging to online retailer Wildberries, causing more than £35bn worth of economic damage, reports the BBC.
The United Kingdom is "acting as an accomplice and accessory to the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks of Ukrainian neo-Nazis in order to contain our country and inflict maximum damage on it through proxy means," the Russian embassy said.
"The deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support for Kyiv's terrorist machine, the higher the price will be."
In April, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed it would supply Kyiv with tens of thousands of drones, including long-range strike devices. A spokesperson said: "We are committed to providing the equipment Ukraine needs to defend itself against illegal invasion.
"This includes over 150,000 drones this year, cutting-edge Stone Cloak devices that hinder Russian air defences and innovative low-cost cruise missiles."
It comes as Vladimir Putin's leading TV attack dog called for a nuclear strike on Britain over Ukraine's use of British drones. Vladimir Solovyov also demanded British arms factories be hit and ships that carry weapons to Ukraine sunk.
"Hit them with Poseidon [underwater nuclear drone]," he demanded in a prime time broadcast on state TV. "Give the British three days to learn to breathe underwater, then hit them with Poseidon."
Moscow military sources claim Russia's Poseidon drone could trigger a devastating blast off Britain's coast, sending a radioactive tidal wave over the country once deployed. Vladimir Putin said last month that the weapon was nearing completion and would soon be ready to use.
Another Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Kornilov said Britain should be "nervous" over the revelation UK drones are being used in Russia.
He threatened: "If British newspapers are boasting that their drones are already hitting civilian targets deep in Russia, then surely we can do the same."
Solovyov said: "Now, strikes deep into Russia are being carried out with British weapons [...] This is classic Anglo-Saxon warfare.
"We need to understand who we're fighting and respond asymmetrically [...] They need to be destroyed."
He added that the British Embassy in Moscow should be closed and UK journalists removed from Russia.
"When will they finally get rid of all these British journalists [in Moscow], all this vomiting anti-Russian scum, from here…? Drive them all out of here, and close the [British] embassy and kick them out!" he said.
