Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

On June 30, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani upon the initiative of the Bahraini side.

The discussion focused on current developments in the Persian Gulf zone, with the two foreign ministers stressing the need for all the parties involved in the armed confrontation to strictly abide by the June 17 memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on ending the military conflict. They agreed to continue working closely together when discussing the Middle East agenda at the UN Security Council.

The ministers went on to reaffirm their countries’ shared commitment to further strengthen Russian-Bahraini cooperation in trade, the economy, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
