On February 2, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

During the conversation, the parties addressed key priorities of bilateral cooperation and issues on the international agenda.

The Russian side reaffirmed its principled stance on the inadmissibility of economic and military pressure on Cuba, including attempts to disrupt energy supplies to the island, which could seriously aggravate the country’s economic and humanitarian situation. Russia emphasised its firm commitment to continue providing Cuba with the necessary political and material support.

The ministers also reviewed the schedule of forthcoming Russian-Cuban contacts.
