Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed Al Thani.

On May 5, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Mohammed Al Thani.

The ministers discussed the situation in and around the Strait of Hormuz. They agreed on the necessity to refrain from military solutions to the crisis and to rally the efforts of all interested sides towards promoting the achievement of a durable and sustainable settlement, including agreements to guarantee the legitimate security interests of all Persian Gulf countries and the principles of the freedom of navigation.
