Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on Ukraine attacking passenger trains in Crimea.

Faced with another string of battlefield failures and territorial losses, the neo-Nazi Kiev regime continues to perpetrate terrorist crimes against Russian civilians amid demagogic rhetoric by Zelensky during his foreign tours and in open letters which imply his alleged commitment to peace.

In the early hours of June 8, Ukrainian UAVs attacked the locomotive of the Moscow-Simferopol passenger train in the Republic of Crimea killing the assistant train driver and injuring the driver. The train was operating as a civilian passenger service, with no confirmed evidence of military affiliation. The evacuated passengers were bussed to their destinations.

By attacking unarmed civilians, the Kiev regime has once again defiantly violated the international humanitarian law which prohibits targeting civilian infrastructure. Zelensky, his special services, and armed formations resort to such tactics encouraged by their Western sponsors. The latter seek to instil in their Kiev underlings a false sense of impunity where they can get away with anything. On June 2, a Ukrainian UAV hit a passenger train at the Dzhankoy railway station. During the June 4 night attack on the Azovskoye-Kerch commuter train, one civilian was killed and three more people were wounded. These strikes were designed to kill civilians and to disrupt the functioning of Russian regions.

We strongly condemn these war crimes. All those responsible and involved will be identified and face inevitable punishment they deserve. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the people who died and wish a speedy recovery to the injured survivors.

Desperately taking it out on civilian population will not change the situation on the battlefield or prevent the inevitable defeat of the Kiev junta.

We once again call on all sovereign governments, sector-specific international organisations, and independent media to call things for what they are and to strongly condemn Kiev’s brutal terrorist attacks committed in violation of every provision of international humanitarian law. Silence will amount to complicity in and encouragement of the bloody crimes of the neo-Nazis who have usurped power in Ukraine.
