Foreign Ministry statement on personal sanctions against members of Britain’s media and expert community

19:11 03.06.2026 •

The British officials’ provocative anti-Russian rhetoric, continuing insinuations about Russia and London’s practical actions to pump the Kiev regime with weapons and military equipment are evidence of the British authorities’ unflagging intention to carry on the hard-line systematic confrontation with our country.

In response to these hostile actions, it has been decided to add several members of Britain’s media and expert community to Russia’s stop list for their involvement in circulating defamatory speculations and false information about the policy of the Russian authorities and socio-political events in our country, as well as for their calls to maintain and increase pressure on Moscow under the pretext of responding to the special military operation. In addition, the new additions to the stop list include the heads of British companies specialising in security matters and recruiting personnel for the neo-Nazi regime under the pretext of implementing pseudo-humanitarian projects in Ukraine.

The following is the list of British nationals who are henceforth banned from entering the Russian Federation.

1. Alexander Browder, the author of the report published by the Henry Jackson Society, which contains disinformation;

2. Catherine Belton, a journalist of The Washington Post;

3. Alice Mary Laugher, Managing Director of CTG (Committed to Good), a subsidiary of the Chelsea Group;

4. Richard Nicholas Westbury, a founder and chairman of the Chelsea Group;

5. Richard Holmes, journalist of The i Paper.

We once again urge London to desist from its aggressive anti-Russian steps and support for Zelensky’s regime, which can only result in new civilian casualties and the destruction of the Ukrainian state.

Please note that any efforts by the British political elites to escalate Russophobia, intentionally damage the international of our country, and  ratchet up anti-Russian sanctions will inevitably meet with resolute response measures.

The work to expand the Russian stop list will be continued in response to the  British authorities’ unfriendly actions.
