Rom. 8:22-27; Mt. 10:23-31
“There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known’" [Mt. 10:26]. Thus, no matter how we hide our sins, it is of no use for us. At a certain moment in the future — how far away this moment is? — everything will come to light.
What’s the conclusion? Don’t hide anything. If you have done something wrong, go and confess your sin to the Lord before a priest, your spiritual counselor. As soon as you receive absolution, your sin goes away: then there will be nothing to be opened and revealed later. But if you hide your sin and do not repent, you keep it inside, and in due time it will show up and accuse you.
God has told us about that in advance to let us prepare our defense before His righteous and terrible Last Judgment.
