ICor. 14:6-19; Mt. 20:17-28

As a matter of fact, Christian faith satisfies our inherent drive to superiority, but how? In a very peculiar way, directly opposite to that we are used to in the world. "Whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant" [Mt. 20:27], that is, let him be the last among others: this is just as essential as setting up your whole life and mindset by the example of the Lord Jesus.

The Lord said: "The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many" [Mt. 20:27]. The Lord serves His disciples, even washes their feet; so, it is our duty to serve our neighbors. Look for opportunities to serve, and you will find plenty: feed the hungry, provide clothing to the naked, give shelter to the homeless, visit the sick and care after them, just to name a few. Moreover, serve not only to the bodily needs, but to the spiritual necessities of others: give guidance, offer advise, suggest a good book, console and support. Kind words are a powerful means of help: in your words your soul gets incarnate and then meets another soul, sharing with it spiritual energy.
