Mayelinne De Lara: we live in a world of post-truth

Mayelinne De Lara, the head of the Benelux Diplomatic Council, said as much when speaking at the Second International Media Forum 2019: Freedom of Journalism in the Context of Human Rights, New Technologies, and International Information Security.
Dr. De Lara believes that political fraud is based on technological processes and business models.
“It distorts the very essence of democratic ideas (...) Post-truth is an emotional argument [where] something may appear more credible and serving as a means of forming public opinion,” she noted.
