The Russian Federation welcomes the efforts of First Lady of the United States Melania Trump, who has made a substantial contribution to coordinating the humanitarian operation in the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region. This was announced by Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin informs.

Following agreements reached between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation Yana Lantratova and her Ukrainian counterpart have undertaken extensive work, with the direct involvement of Mrs Trump. Representatives of the respective defence ministries are coordinating the timing of a ceasefire to enable the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki to proceed; those wishing to leave the town will be able to do so.

The mission requires extensive and complex preparations involving a wide range of participants. Mrs Trump is acting in a coordinating capacity. This matter was discussed during the recent telephone conversation between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the United States Donald Trump.
