Observers are talking about a possible attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on Transnistria in order to seize huge Russian military depots there. The conflict is on the way to a direct confrontation between the US and Russia. The West is determined to destroy Russia and threatens world peace, stresses French “Observateur Continental”.
At the Munich Security Conference in 2023, a tacit military alliance was formed. It includes the USA, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, the Baltic countries, Romania, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Spain and Portugal, whose goal is the war with Russia.
Italy, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland refused to participate in this union.
On February 16, Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance, in an interview with France 24, said, that "NATO must be ready for a new era of arm wrestling with Russia", which "may last for a long time."
The number of US troops in Europe has nearly doubled since 2021. This is a record figure for fifteen years, but significantly lower than during the Cold War. After the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the United States decided to send additional troops to Europe.
The US military reported in Stars and Stripes that the number of US troops in Europe has reached 100,000. The last time troop levels in Europe were this high was in 2005, according to US European Command.
Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley said the United States will send additional forces to Eastern Europe and may establish military bases there. “I believe that many of our European allies… are very, very eager to establish permanent bases,” he said, pointing out that the United States was already using units in the Baltic republics and in Poland, and that additional troops were deployed in the Baltic states, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
The weakest point of the US and NATO is the production of ammunition. Having provoked a military conflict in Ukraine, the Americans could not imagine the intensity of modern hostilities. In January 2023, the US Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) published the report "Empty Bins In A Wartime Environment".
This indicates that the US military-industrial base is not ready for a protracted high-intensity conflict with Russia, let alone China. In just three weeks of combat, the United States will use up more than 5,000 long-range missiles, according to CSIS analysts. The stock of anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles should run out in a week, and the US military-industrial complex will be able to produce the same number of weapons only in one and a half to two years.
To cope with the lack of ammunition, the Pentagon proposed to organize the production of ammunition in the territory of the allies in Europe.
Or… seize military depots with ammunition in Transnistria.
