Only 'good journalism' can solve the problem of information wars

From 3 to 5 December 2018 Bratislava (Slovakia) will host international Forum «Media Agenda-2018: Freedom of Journalism in the Context of Human Rights, New Technologies and International Information Security».

Freedom of journalism and human rights guarantees are issues that are acquiring particular relevance amid the rapidly developing information and communication technology. What makes these issues still more complicated is the mazy, contradictory and conflicting nature of modern politics and international relations.

Answering the question about the practice of modern information wars, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Alison Smale, voiced the opinion that this problem can only be solved by «good journalism».

What is good journalism? How to maintain media's bias-free approach in the conditions of the so-called ‘mainstream’? How to prevent distortion of information and the creation of virtual events? In other words, how to ensure the user's right to bias-free content?
