President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr President, friends,

We are delighted to see you in Moscow. Welcome. There was an agreement to hold this meeting, and I remember that we outlined specific and serious plans for stepping up our relations.

Of course, I would like to start by expressing my condolences and sharing my sympathy in connection with the flooding and the human casualties your people and your country have suffered.

But going back to our contacts, you and I had a meeting during the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in the People’s Republic of China. During this meeting, we talked about continuing our direct personal contacts. We are very grateful to you for taking part in person in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum in June.

Let me reiterate that our relations have gathered solid and steady momentum. This year, we marked 75 years of diplomatic relations. The intergovernmental commissions have been proactive on both sides. Trade and economic ties are advancing at a robust pace, with a 17 percent increase in the first nine months of this year.

Our two countries have significant potential in energy, including nuclear power. I know that your country has plans in this regard. As for us, we remain at your disposal should you wish to reach out to our specialists.

In terms of industrial cooperation and agriculture, there are many interesting projects we can offer. In fact, Indonesia even enjoys a surplus in our agricultural relations. But we are not complaining, we are ready to explore new ways for stepping up our relations in this sector. There was a slight decrease in wheat exports to your market, I believe, which will be another topic during our conversation today.

We have built a solid track record in military technical cooperation. Indonesia has a tradition of partnering with us in this sector. There is also positive momentum in promoting direct military-to-military ties, which have reached a high professional level. Russian universities and military academies continue to train Indonesian specialists, and we are ready to expand this cooperation.

There has been progress in our humanitarian ties too. The number of tourists has been on the rise on both sides, which is attributable to direct flights and preferential visa regulations.

The fact that Indonesia has become a full participant in BRICS was a very welcome development for us. Talks with the EAEU are underway to create a free trade zone.

Mr President, I have already said a great deal about what matters for our two countries. I am delighted to see you. We have a big team representing Russia. I invited my colleagues so that we can discuss all these aspects.

We are very glad to see you. Once again, welcome.

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto (retranslated): Thank you very much.

Your Excellency, Mr President, heads of Russian ministries and agencies,

I am very pleased to see you.

Allow me to express my gratitude for the warm welcome extended to me and to our delegation. I know that your schedule is extremely tight, so I would like to thank you personally for finding the time to receive me, even though we notified you of the visit at relatively short notice.

The main purpose of my visit is to hold consultations and, once again, to express our sincere appreciation, as we are currently witnessing a very strong and dynamic growth in Russian-Indonesian bilateral relations.

I would also like to note that in recent months I have received a number of Russian delegations in Jakarta, including representatives of government bodies as well as Russian companies. I am pleased to say that we held very substantive and constructive discussions with all the delegations that visited Jakarta.

I have also connected them with various Indonesian associations and institutions that can act as partners for further coordination, and we can already see that dialogue between the Russian and Indonesian sides in these areas is continuing, with direct communication now well underway.

May I also take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt invitation for you to visit Indonesia at a time convenient for you. It may be possible in 2026 or 2027. We will gladly adjust to your schedule and would be honoured to welcome you in our country.

Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much, I will certainly do that.
