Russian forces continue to oust Ukrainian troops from the bordering region of Kursk, TASS informs.

The Russian army has been successfully moving forward in the Kursk Region, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters when asked to comment on the situation in Sudzha.

"We are closely following the information coming from our military. And the data from our military shows that our troops have been successfully progressing in the Kursk Region as they liberate those areas that have been controlled by [Ukrainian] militants," he specified.

Russian forces continue to oust Ukrainian troops from the bordering region of Kursk. In the past day, Russian troops liberated five localities, and they have regained control of downtown Sudzha.

The Russian military operation to penetrate behind the Ukrainian lines through a gas pipeline and defeat the enemy units in the Sudzha district of the Kursk Region has become one of the most effective for the entire period of the special military operation, Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Main Military-Political Department, Akhmat Special Forces Commander Lieutenant General Apty Alaudinov told TASS.

"The operation itself, I believe, is one of the most effective operations, probably for the entire period of the special military operation. The result of the operation has already surpassed itself," he emphasized.

Alaudinov spoke in detail about the actions of the Russian servicemen during the operation. Thus, the servicemen went through the pipe behind the enemy lines for about 12-15 kilometers, depending on the exit point. Several units entered the pipe, each with a specific task to recapture a Ukrainian-controlled settlement.

"Here we should note the very good work of all the units of Russia’s battlegroup North, which were deployed in the Kursk area. All the units played their role and did their best, which led, I believe, to the first stage of victory in our counteroffensive. The counteroffensive itself continues," Alaudinov emphasized. The Akhmat special forces commander pointed out that Russian troops "will continue until the enemy is destroyed."

Commenting on the cessation of US support for Ukraine, Alaudinov noted that "it was hardly known to the guys who were in the pipeline and went behind the enemy lines." "Neither the enemy, who was sitting in its strongholds, nor our guys, who were sitting in the pipeline and then jumped out behind the enemy's lines and destroyed it, had absolutely no idea that America had stopped helping anyone," he emphasized.
