Any foreign military presence in Ukraine, regardless of the flag, signage, and declared mandates, will be considered a threat to the Russian Federation and will lead to conflict. This was announced on April 9 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a press conference, Izvestia quotes.
"We would like to remind you once again that any foreign military presence in Ukraine, regardless of the flag, signage, or declared mandates, will be considered by the Russian Federation as a threat to the security of our country," Zakharova said.
According to her, these measures pose the risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia. Zakharova also believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is waiting for concrete steps from European allies to send troops. Such actions will mean that these countries will enter the conflict on the side of the Kiev regime.
Zakharova recalled that a meeting of the chiefs of the General Staffs of Ukraine, Great Britain, and France was held in Kiev from April 4 to 5, aimed at identifying operational strategies for the possible deployment, according to them, of a multinational peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine.
Earlier, on April 5, the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung reported that the European Union (EU) was doing its best to counter the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. As an example, the publication recalled the plans of French President Emmanuel Macron to send a peacekeeping contingent to the territories controlled by Kiev.
