Briefing by Chief of the Air Defence Missile Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces Major General Aleksandr Romanenkov:

At night, from 28 to 29 December 2025, the Kiev regime attempted to deliver a terrorist attack using a large number of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles at the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in Novgorod region.

Around 19.20 of 28 December 2025, radio-technical units of the Russian Aerospace Forces detected an aerial attack by fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles operating at extremely low altitudes from the territory of Sumy and Chernigov regions of Ukraine.

As the map shows, the enemy delivered the strike from several directions at the residence of the President of the Russian Federation over territory of Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, and Novgorod regions by 91 unmanned aerial vehicles.

During the air defence battle, all Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by Russian air defence troops and means.

over the territory of Bryansk region — 49 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down:

from 20.27 to 21.16 of 28 December, two UAVs were destroyed;

from 23.15 of 28 December to 00.07 of 29 December, 17 UAVs were destroyed;

from 00.51 to 01.07 of 29 December, three UAVs were destroyed;

from 02.05 to 03.56 of 29 December, 27 UAVs were destroyed;

over the territory of Smolensk region, at 01.50 of 29 December 2025, one UAV was intercepted;

Over the territory of Novgorod region, air defence units of the Russian Air Defence Missile Forces shot down 41 Ukrainian UAVs:

from 03.18 to 05.01 of 29 December, 11 UAVs were shot down;

from 06.20 to 07.13 of 29 December, 12 UAVs were shot down;

from 07.46 to 08.30 of 29 December, 18 UAVs were shot down.

Anti-air missile systems, mobile fire teams, and electronic warfare means were engaged in repelling the massed strike over the territory of Bryansk, Smolensk, and Novgorod regions.

The composition of the strike, the amount of the air attack means used, and their movement from southern, southwestern, and western directions straight to the area of the residence of the President of the Russian Federation in Novgorod region, unequivocally confirm that the terrorist attack of the Kiev regime was deliberate, thoroughly planned, and organised in waves.

There were no casualties or damage as a result of actions to repel the terrorist attack of the Kiev regime on the territory of the Russian Federation. Any damage to the residence of the President of the Russian Federation has been prevented.

Anti-air missile system crews, air surveillance means of radio-technical units, mobile fire teams, and electronic warfare means completed their task cohesively, professionally, and effectively.

Air defence units of the Russian Aerospace Forces continue to perform their duty to defend the airspace of our country.
