Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answers to questions from Moscow. Kremlin. Putin television programme, Astana, November 28, 2024.

Sergey Lavrov: Politicians, by their very nature, continuously seek to capture and maintain public attention. We have our share of politicians who frequently speak about escalation.

The decision rests with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. I hold the hope that this is similarly the case in the United States.

Question: There are already considerations there about NATO executing preventive precision strikes on Russian territory...

Sergey Lavrov: This statement was made by Admiral Rob Bauer, an individual who is utterly irresponsible. They are likely attempting to ingratiate themselves, sensing the current political climate.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the Moscow.Kremlin.Putin TV show, Astana, November 27, 2024.

Question: The ATACMS strikes continue, as stated by the Defence Ministry of Russia...

Sergey Lavrov: We have many proverbs reflecting the Russian disposition and mindset: “Measure seven times and cut once,” “The Lord endured and so we are commanded to endure.” But patience, when tested time and again, inevitably comes to an end.

There is one more proverb that Western officials should keep in mind: “A Russian takes a long time to harness his horse...” I’m sure the viewers know the ending.
