Wisdom — that is, God the Word — hath budded her house, — that is, the Holy Church; there she hath also furnished her table — that is, the word of God and Holy Sacraments, especially the Sacrament of Lord’s Body and Blood. And she hath sent forth her maidens — the holy apostles and their successors — to call everyone for the supper [Prov. 8:13].

Many have already come, but the call is still out, to fill the entire house. And the supper goes on continually. Glory be to the Merciful Lord! Let us all go! Come on in, let no one stay outside. These Lenten days the call is so strong, and supper is so abundant — but so much less excuse for missing it. Make sure to keep in mind these words of Wisdom: ‘77e that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own souN [Prov. 8:36] — and take charge of your fate.
