“I will save you, and ye shall be a blessing", — such a promise is given by the Lord through His prophet Zechariah [8:13]. Under what conditions? “Speakye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates; let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath... love truth and peace" [Zech. 8:17,19].

If the people meet these conditions, then, says the Lord, “they shall be My people, and 1 will be their God, in truth and in righteousness" [Zech. 8:8], and the blessing will be upon them. Then people from far away will hear and say “We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you" [Zech. 8:23]. “Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of Hosts" [Zech. 8:22].

Such was the appeal of the moral purity of the early Christians which attracted people and whole nations to the Lord. And anyone who lives by the spirit of Christ at any time, without saying any words, is the best possible preacher and the most powerful apostle of the Christian faith.
