According to the World Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots, for the first time Russian compatriots in Tunisia organized the New Year's fair “Slavic Bazaar”, with the Association “Russian Heritage” as the organizer.
Immigrants from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and the Baltic republics presented their works to the people of Tunisia. Guests could see and purchase jewelry, decor items, paintings, natural cosmetics and much more. It should be noted that tasting of dishes of traditional Russian cuisine was very popular.
Father Frost met the visitors. He and his granddaughter Snegurochka congratulated both children and adults. The creative teams of compatriots performed Russian folk songs and dances. There was an art workshop for young visitors, where everyone could create their own “matrioshka” and play chess. In addition, a charity event was held.
Russian Heritage has already outlined events for 2020. They will strengthen partnership between public associations of Russian compatriots with other organizations and communities in Tunisia, Russia and other countries.
