Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting London on Tuesday afternoon for talks with Sir Keir Starmer and to deliver a clear message: “Don’t forget about me,” ‘The Telegraph’ writes.

The Ukrainian president was in Paris to meet Emmanuel Macron last week and in Romania for discussions on Ukraine’s strategic direction.

Earlier, he met King Charles at Buckingham Palace.

He will fly to Madrid for talks with Pedro Sánchez, Spain’s prime minister.

In the past, Mr Zelensky’s aides have said he would only leave his country for reasons of the utmost importance. But with the Iran war dragging into its third week, Ukraine’s battle against Russia has started to lose the world’s interest.

And the jeopardy of this is real for Ukraine. Stocks of American air-defence missiles are being exhausted as they are used to defend against Iranian retaliation across the Middle East.

Nobody in London, Brussels or any other European capital is saying Ukraine is no longer important, but Western diplomats and officials are struggling to free up enough bandwidth to deal with two simultaneous major crises. The war in Iran has engulfed the Trump administration enough for it to move the US-mediated peace talks down its list of priorities.

Visits to London and Paris are much more of a desperate reminder not to forget Kyiv’s plight. Britain has been helping Ukraine by manufacturing interceptor drones.
