Top Russian security official accuses US

The United States sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines (photo) to block Europe's access to Russia's gas supplies, said Nikolay Patrushev, the secretary of Russia's Security Council, informs RT.

The United States turned Ukraine into a testing ground for military and biological experiments, essentially preparing it for warfare against Russia, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev told a visiting meeting in Tomsk.

He said it was no coincidence that US President Joe Biden called military aid to Ukraine and Israel "a smart investment that’s going to pay dividends for American security for generations." By this policy, the US instigated and continues to escalate the situation in the Middle East, he stressed.

"They act exactly the same way in Ukraine, where they incited a coup, encouraged neo-Nazism, turned Ukraine into a testing ground for military and biological experiments, turned a blind eye to the killings of civilians in Donbass and prepared it for military action against our country. In these circumstances, Russia stood up to protect the population of Donbass and prevented these aggressive plans from being carried out," Patrushev said.

"Representatives of NATO countries are now openly saying that Russia has prevented them from approaching Russian borders, while Ukrainians are a tool for the West to contain Russia." "In addition, the US, making use of the Ukrainian crisis, saw to it that economic relations between Europe and Russia were severed and economic rivals removed," the top security official stressed.

"They solve their economic problems at the expense of other countries. And to prevent Europe from receiving gas from Russia, they blew up the Nord Stream pipelines," he listed Washington's moves.

"In view of such actions, the credit of trust in the US and the collective West has been exhausted," Patrushev summed up.
