View from UAE: “Biden simply wants to embellish what already exists and call it a New World Order”

US rhetoric regarding the need for a new world order is gradually changing, writes ‘Al Khaleej’ from UAE. Biden said that it is time to create a different system of international relations – but America must lead it. Washington never realized that its hegemony would soon end.

The conflict in Ukraine, the US-China crisis over Taiwan and their economic and technological rivalry, as well as the competition for influence in the world, are part of the global confrontation between the United States, on the one hand, and Russia and China, on the other. Moscow and Beijing are trying to change the current international system, dominated by Washington, with the goal of establishing a new, fairer and more equitable world order.

The crisis in the Middle East caused by the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict could become a new factor in the context of confrontation between the West and the Russian-Chinese alliance, especially if the fighting spreads beyond the Gaza Strip and the United States becomes directly involved in it. In this case, Beijing and Moscow will be forced to retreat from their balanced approach, since the White House is clearly working to change the balance of power in the Middle East in its favor.

US President Joe Biden recently said: “So, I think we have an opportunity to do things, if we’re bold enough and have enough confidence in ourselves, to unite the world in ways that it never has been.  We were in a post-war period for 50 years where it worked pretty damn well, but that’s sort of run out of steam.  Sort of run out of steam.  It needs a new — a new world order in a sense, like that was a world order.”

The head of the White House said that the world needs a new international system, but what kind? He wants the United States to "create" it, that is, to restore the current order to American standards, so that Washington continues to control all the mechanisms. In this case, other countries will not play any role.

That is, Biden simply wants to embellish what already exists and call it a new world order.

He stressed that the existing system of international relations, which his country clearly leads, no longer works. This world order has become a heavy burden for all states, as well as for global security. But instead of recognizing the ultimate failure of this system and accepting the new reality in accordance with the new rules, he decided to return the “good old” American control.

Is Biden's announcement of a new international order a signal that the American position is changing, albeit slowly?

Has the White House realized that the current regime is about to collapse?
