3John 1:1-15; Lk. 19:29-40, 22:7-39

What does it mean to “walk in truth” [3John 1:4]? It means to receive the truth in your heart and follow the demands of the truth in the disposition of your mind and emotions.

Thus, for instance, there is a truth: that God is everywhere and sees everything. If you take this truth into your heart and set up your behavior — both internal and external — as if God Himself were standing right in front of you, perceiving every bit of your inner nature and outer actions, it will mean that you walk in that truth. Or take another truth: that God is in control of every event, and without Him we can achieve no success in anything. If you take this truth into your heart and from that instant on start calling the Lord for help in any job you are doing and accept every occurrence with gratitude, as if coming from Lord’s hand, it will mean that you walk in that truth. Finally, that death can snatch us at any moment, and the judgment will follow, is yet another truth. If you take this truth into your heart and begin living as if you are about to die this very moment and face the heavenly Judge, it will mean that you walk in that truth.

And the same can be said about any other truth in which we ought to walk.
