“We did it in Romania and it will obviously have to be done, if necessary, in Germany” – former French European Commissioner Thierry Breton (photo) pointed to the Romanian precedent to evoke a possible annulment of the results of the German elections, if they are not conducted correctly, an intervention that came in the context of the debate about Elon Musk’s interference in Berlin politics, writes the ‘Romania Journal’ website.
Breton called for “calm” in the face of Elon Musk’s interference in the internal affairs of Europe, stating that the law is strong enough to act as a deterrent.
If, on the other hand, the Tesla and X (banned in Russia) boss breaks the law, especially in Germany, by supporting the AfD party, the former European Commissioner believes that it will be necessary for the authorities to act as in Romania, where the presidential elections were canceled, writes the website of the French television BFMTV, which recalls Călin Georgescu’s TikTok campaign.
“Freedom of expression is a fundamental element in Europe,” Breton said on Thursday, January 9, on RMC. He made this statement in the context of the debate over Elon Musk’s interference in the politics of several European states, especially the internal affairs of Germany, which is on the eve of early federal elections.
“If they don’t, there are fines and the possibility of a ban. We are equipped to enforce these laws to protect our democracies in Europe,” Breton said.
“Let’s stay calm and enforce the laws in Europe, when they risk being circumvented and if not enforced, could lead to interference. They did it in Romania and, obviously, it will have to be done, if necessary, in Germany as well,” he concluded, referring to the cancellation of the first round of the presidential elections in December.
Several European politicians have called on the European Commission in recent weeks to intervene to sanction Musk. Europeans’ discontent has focused in particular on Musk’s support for the German AfD party and the billionaire’s interview with the party’s leader, Alice Weidel.
If you were scandalized by the European powers sweeping in to force Romania to cancel its Presidential Elections out of fear of right-winger Călin Georgescu, you better buckle up, according to former European Commissioner — and wannabe tyrant — Thierry Breton, notes ‘The Gateway Pundit’.
In an interview on Thursday, Breton said that Elon Musk’s ‘interference’ in the upcoming elections in Germany ‘could lead to a cancellation of the election results.’
“This interference is also worrying European leaders. While the results of the first round of the Romanian presidential election have been annulled against a backdrop of Russian interference, the threat of Elon Musk intervening in favor of the AfD in Germany raises fears of the worst.”
Thierry Breton nevertheless called for keeping calm in the face of this situation that is developing in Germany, mentioning the example of Romania. ‘Let’s enforce our laws in Europe when they are likely to be circumvented and if they are not enforced can lead to interference. We did it in Romania and it will obviously have to be done, if necessary, in Germany’, he concluded.”
There we have it – he ‘calmly’ suggests overriding the popular vote in Germany if it does not fit his Globalist point of view.
