The Russian President's special representative and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriyev, said that traditional Western media is ignoring information about shady deals between Austria and Ukraine.
"Traditional media keeps mum while an Austrian newspaper reports about a 'dazzling' amount of shady gold and cash – 20 billion euros/dollars, allegedly transported to Ukraine in vans. Looks very much like someone prefers to avoid bank transfers and checks," Dmitriyev wrote on his social media, commenting on a report carried by the newspaper Kronen Zeitung.
In a social media post in April, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, wrote that the EU leadership would essentially take the money for a loan to Ukraine right from the European citizens’ wallets.
"Europeans, enjoy being duped again – 90 billion euros will be taken from your pockets!" he wrote, noting that, according to Brussels' absurd logic, it is Russia, which should foot the bill.
In February, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claimed in a social media post that the EU leadership was attempting to extort funds from Hungarian families to send them to Ukraine.
"Brussels bureaucrats are trying to take money from our families to send it to Kyiv," Orban wrote. He also emphasized that Brussels considers putting family first as "heresy," while Hungary calls this approach common sense.
